GoodTube is a non profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarians around the world with a video-sharing community.
What makes GoodTube different from other video sites?
GoodTube is a non profit website for charitable organizations and volunteers. GoodTube offers a unique opportunity for non profits all over the world to share their message through video, on a site committed exclusively to charitable work. All videos will be screened by a real, live person before they are posted so viewers can be assured that they are appropriate.
How much does it cost to share videos on GoodTube?
GoodTube is absolutely free! We are a non profit organization, with the purpose to provide a free platform for humanitarians around the world to share their causes through video.

Videos
How do I upload my video?
You will be able to upload any files that are in the proper format from your computer. Simply select Add a Video in the top right-hand corner of every page and fill out the upload form.
How long does it take to upload?
This depends on the length and file size of your video. Ususally it takes about 1-5 min per mb.
What file format does my video need to be in?
We accept the following video formats:
- .mp4
- .mov
- .wmv
- .avi
- .mpg
What are the best specifications for the highest quality video?
Our encoding tool will fit your video to our player without stretching or distording your video. However, it is best to resize your video to 440x330 or a 4:3 (standard) aspect ratio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your videos look better.
How long does it take for my video to appear on GoodTube?
Depending on the volume of videos we get, your video should show up on GoodTube one to two days after you upload it. Our staff at GoodTube screens every video to ensure that they meet our Content Guidelines. We also view each video to choose featured videos and make sure the video is associated with all appropriate categories.
Why didn't my video finish uploading?
Your connection speed may be too slow.
How do I find my video on GoodTube?
Type in your organization name, location or category your video falls in. Or, type the title of the video in the search field.
Are there limits on the size of my video file?
We recommend that your videos be no more than 8 minutes or 100 mb. The optimal length for web videos is between 3 and 5 minutes.If your video file is too large, you can compress it with video editing software like Windows Movie Maker, iMovie or Final Cut Pro.
Can I make changes to my video once it has been uploaded?
Once your video is uploaded to our site, no more editing can be done. If you would like to make changes to your video, you can always make changes with your editing software, erase the current video and then upload the new version. However, any comments or ratings will be lost once a video is deleted from your account.
Sharing
How do I share my video?
It's easy to share video! Select "Email to a Friend", enter your email and then your friend's email.
How do I put my video on my blog or website?
It's easy to add GoodTube videos to your blog or website. Select "Embed this Video" in the "This Video" section. A code will appear in a text box below. Simply copy and paste this code to your website or blog.
Can I link directly to a video?
Absolutely! Copy the URL from your browser and paste it directly on your website or blog.
Accounts
How do I join GoodTube?
Joining GoodTube is easy! Select "Sign In/Register" in the top right portion of any page. Fill out a simple form, accept our Terms and Conditions and you are ready to start sharing your videos with the GoodTube community.
Why do I need an account?
You only need an account if you want to upload videos and send other users comments. Accounts help you to organize and manage your content. It also helps GoodTube viewers identify who created their favorite videos and view more from the creator. If you are a non profit organization with a GoodTube account, you can collect donations, drive traffic to your website and find volunteers through GoodTube.
How do I confirm my email address?
Once you have submitted your application, an email will be sent to the address you listed on your form (usually within a couple of minutes). Click on the link provided in the email and your email will be confirmed. Instructions for a non-functioning link will be provided in the email.
I am having trouble filling out the application, how do I get help?
- Click the Help link in the top right hand corner of every page. Click on the FAQ's tab in the left navigation bar and choose Account from the question headings.
- Email your information to info@goodtube.org and we will happily fill out the application for you. Put "Application" in the subject line.
How do I update my profile?
Sign in to GoodTube. Select "Account". Go to "My Profile", the second option down on the left navigation bar. Fill out any fields that you want changed on the profile form.
What if I don't know the tax ID number or 501(c)(3) status of my organization?
You can still fill out the application and start uploading your videos. However, we do need the tax identification number (also known as a 501(c)(3) number) in order to verify your organization and allow people to donate to your cause. If you aren't sure where to find the 501(c)(3) number, contact us at help@goodtube.org. Please include a telephone number and your email. A GoodTube representative will contact you promptly and guide you through the process.
Can people send me messages about my videos?
On GoodTube, we allow people to give you feedback on your videos with our comment section. By selecting "+ comment" you can add a comment about the video.
How do I remove videos from my profile?
Sign in to your GoodTube account. Select My Videos from the My Account menu bar. Find the video you want to remove and click "x delete."
Signing In
Why can't I sign in ?
An error message usually means that required information wasn't entered or entered incorrectly. Red arrows will indicate which parts of the application are incorrect.
I don't know my tax ID number or 501(c)(3) status. Can I still sign up?
If you don't know your 501(c)(3) number, you can still sign up. Leave the tax ID field empty and provide it in the future. If you want to be recognized as a non profit organization and receive donations, we need the 501(c)(3) number.
What if I forgot my username/password?
It's not a problem if you forget your password. At the Sign-in page, select "Forgot password?" and you will be guided through the steps necessary to create a new password.
I signed up for an account. Why isn't my organization showing up in the search results?
While you can immediately start uploading and viewing videos with your GoodTube account, it make take us a couple of hours to up date our system to include you in our categories. Please be patient and we will have you up and running in no time. In the meantime, watch other videos and start choosing your favorites.
Viewing videos
How do I find videos?
You can search videos by category, organization, location or keywords. The search bar is located at the top right of every page with a channel selector to the left of the video player. Once a list is generated based on a category you are interested in, you can filter the search results further by location and organization.
What if the organization I am interested isn't listed on your site?
Let us know! Email us at info@goodtube.org and we will contact the organization and let them know that GoodTube viewers want to see videos from their organization. If you work for an organization that isn't listed, create an account for your organization and start adding videos.
The player isn't displaying correctly or is playing the wrong video. How do I fix this?
Your web browser may be displaying cached information. To clear your browser cache, perform the following steps:
Using Internet Explorer:
- Go to a different website such as google.com.
- Click on Tools -> Internet Options -> General
- Click the Delete Files button, select the "Delete all Offline files" option and then click OK
- Once the process completes, click OK to close the Options dialog
- Close all open Internet Explorer browser windows.
Firefox:
- Go to a different website such as google.com.
- Choose Options from the Tools menu
- Click the Privacy icon, select the Cache tab, and click Clear Cache Now.
- Click on the History tab, and select Clear Browsing History Now.
- Click OK to close the Options dialog
- Close all open Firefox windows.
Safari
- Go to a different website such as google.com
- Choose Empty Cache from the Safari menu
The player says I need to upgrade. How do I do this?
You can download the latest version of the Flash Player from Adobe website.
Why does my video player skip, pause or buffer in the middle of playback?
One common reason for this is your connection speed. Your connection speed can also slow during high traffic times.
If your computer doesn't meet the specifications below, video may stutter or pause during playback.
Windows:

Donations
How do I donate to organizations I am interested in?
Click on the Donate button to the right of the video player. If the Donate button is not next to the video, we haven't verified the tax status of the organization or the organization isn't a recognized non profit.
How do I know that my donation is going to an accredited organization?
We require that all organizations with a GoodTube account provide their tax id number. This number allows us to verify the organization and their tax status as a recognized non profit organization.
